Perhaps you are grieving a parent or dear friend. Maybe you are mourning the end of your once-happy marriage. As tragedy strikes, chances are you have also lost your joy, peace, and happiness.
Life is hard on its own, yet when faced with an unexpected tragedy like grief, loss, or divorce, it is easy to throw up your hands in despair. You may even turn your back on God.
From a young age, I wanted to be a wife and a mother. Unfortunately, the life I had longed for vanished within a blink of an eye. As my marriage crumbled, I faced the reality that I couldn’t bring a child into what had become an unloving home and made the most heartbreaking decision ever. I notified my adoption agency to permanently delete my adoption application.
Soon after, I lost my mother. Then, after nineteen years my husband and I divorced and sold our marital home. I lost everything that I loved. Alone, angry, and depressed, I lashed out at God and blamed Him for my troubles.
I cried out, “Why me!” “Why me!” Then, God did something miraculous. He answered me. He shared His desire to carry my load and give me the reprieve I desperately needed and deserved. God assured me that He is the constant I can always depend and I am never alone in Him.
