The Light of Jesus
Hi friend in Christ!
Have you ever met a Christian who failed to reflect the light of Jesus? I have, and sadly, that person was me. I faced a situation that challenged my faith and dedication, and honestly, my ego was bruised. Instead of addressing what I believed was an offense, as Jesus teaches in Matthew 18:15, I allowed anger to grow, and soon darkness consumed my thoughts. I sinned, and rebellion and cynicism made their way into my words and behavior.
I am grateful for a loving and gracious God who provides clarity in our walk and gives us endless opportunities to confess and repent from our sins.
While meeting with my doctor to review my lab work, Jesus reproved me. During the visit, I learned my Vitamin D levels were low. My doctor said my results were not surprising, since Michigan receives so little sunlight in the winter months. Without daily sun exposure, my body could not absorb enough sunlight to produce the essential vitamin.
She suggested I take a daily supplement to boost my Vitamin D levels to prevent bone density loss, while reaping the benefits of strong, healthy bones, reduced depression, improved immunity, and better blood pressure.
My lab results revealed more than just physical risks; they served as a metaphor for walking in the light of Jesus or darkness. My spiritual light dimmed.
Sitting in the doctor’s office, Jesus reminded me that, just as I need sunlight for good physical and mental health, I need the Son of God for spiritual wellness to live a Christian walk as a daughter of Jesus.
I had strayed from the light of Jesus, so I prayed for guidance to correct my heart, and God directed me to these verses for reflection.
God demands obedience, not perfection, and He forgives the repentant sinner. Thank you, Lord, for never giving up on us when we confess our sins, repent, and ask for forgiveness!
Believers will fall, but the key is not to remain down. Proverbs 24:16 reminds us, “For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again.”
May God keep you and bless you,
Tika
What I am reading: The Conductors by Nicole Glover. It’s a fun fantasy fiction about a couple who use magic in post-slavery America to solve crimes.

Notable Quote: “When you feel your hope is dying, I dare you to walk down memory lane, remember a miracle, and find a moment in your life when you know the Lord worked a miracle.” Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley.
Just for fun: In March 2026, I was privileged to sell my books at the 2026 Women’s Expo in Grand Rapids, MI. Click the link to visit my Amazon page. http://bit.ly/3NFg3Fv
